About us
The Hawaii Writers Guild is dedicated to cultural enrichment through use of the written and spoken word. Our mission is to support writers connected to the Hawaiian Islands to hone their craft and engage with the public to heighten community appreciation for literature, creativity, and the written and spoken arts.
The Hawaii Writers Guild was formed in 2017 on the Big Island of Hawaii by a group of local writers. The group had been meeting to critique each other’s writings and decided to pursue a larger mission of helping both experienced and aspiring writers.
They wanted to build a community of writers throughout the Hawaiian islands who support each other to improve their writing.
The Hawaii Writers Guild is a forum for networking, support, feedback and mentoring for our members.
Membership in the Guild is open to anyone with a connection to Hawaii. Since 2017, we have grown to more than 80 active members who live throughout the Hawaiian Islands as well as elsewhere in the United States and abroad.
