Susan’s writing journey began after leaving Pittsburgh and attending UC-Boulder with a major in journalism. After arriving in Hawaii in the 1990’s, she worked at West Hawaii Today, then started a graphic design business. Her desire to write a novel lingered in the background until she decided to put aside her hobby painting and pursue her other avocation. Susan completed a degree in Creative Writing/English at SNHU to gain a better grasp of the literary elements of great fiction. Combining her interests in history and travel, she is currently writing an international crime/thriller, Operation Jewels. A young museum worker from Philadelphia embarks on an archeological vacation in Sicily. Her courage is tested and hidden strengths revealed when she becomes the unwitting pawn between unscrupulous artifact dealers. Susan joined the HWG in hopes of finding support as a new novelist but still finds herself struggling through drafts of her novel. Regardless, she hopes to publish in 2025. Susan published a short story and poem in the HWG Third Annual Literary Magazine.
