Gerald Montano

Gerald Montano is a pediatrician living and working on Maui. Born in the Philippines, he has since lived in many cities throughout the mainland United States, including Ann Arbor, Kansas City, and Pittsburgh. Since his youth, he loved writing about the weird and wonderful. Previously publishing original research in medical academic journals, he has decided to make a switch to write creatively and is working on his first novel. Inspired by precolonial Filipino and southeast Asian folklore, he hopes to write fantasy stories where he could see people like himself become heroes and fight the bad guys. Outside of writing and work, many of his interests include fencing, hiking, snorkeling, running, and being a dad to five crazy cats.
